Good heavens

Filed under: knitting — moiraeknittoo @ 1:42 pm

Time has gotten away from me. Again. This is a short post, with mostly bullet pointy things.

Life stuff:
- I’m done moving, except for the storage space. Yay that!
- Next up? Getting some shelves so I can actually unpack all this crap. Right now I’m living in a cardboard forest.
- Also up next is obtaining a squishy chair and a good lamp, so I can read, knit and spin in comfort. The dining room chairs just ain’t all that.
- Now I want a bag of chips.
- Work has not slowed down, nor will it until the end of the month. I’ve asked for a minimum of a $5/hr raise, though I said I’d be likely to stay with the program longer if it were $10/hr. We shall see what happens.
- I found these awesome totes that will kick ass for knitting at the farmers market that is near my new home. “Soul Comforts”, Andrea Scott, Designer - Seamstress. She sells at the Friday market at Country Village in Bothell, and the totes were on sale for $20!!
- I need to buy a coat rack and hang up all my knitting bags.
- I need to think in terms of vertical, rather than horizontal space.
- Last but not least in lifestuff? My best friend got married two weeks ago, and I get all verklempt whenever I think about it. Not from sadness but from pure joy! She and C are beautiful together, and the wedding itself was awesome. And, at some point, I will get these wedding nails removed. Bridesmaid duties = the hard!

Crafting things:
- For some reason, I started a new cross stitch piece last weekend. Mercury is retrograde in Cancer, and I’m going back to The Craft Before Knitting and Spinning. Go figure.
- I did, however, cast on for a pair of simple socks for the Summer of Socks on the Solstice. I’m using the merino/tencel blend from The Spunky Eclectic in the Orchard colorway. It’s gorgeous, and everyone who sees the yarn ooohs and aaahs over it.
- GO CLAUDIA GO!!!

I am very much looking forward to a day off for the 4th. I hope to find more balance in my work/life arena soon.

And a belated Blessed Solstice to everyone! The height of summer, when everything is ripening, the days are long and golden and lazy, and life is good.

Hope it’s great for anyone who may be reading this. :)
