Today is the 14th with the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces, and there’s a full harvest moon waiting to happen here at 2:13am in Seattle. I wish I could stay awake for it, but the bits I can see out my window right now are more than beautiful enough to touch my soul. If only there weren’t so many damn mosquitoes out…I’d happily moonbathe this evening.
Back in more of the real world…. While I’m waiting for my mic to get here so I can begin recording for Librivox, I’ve been downloading a ridiculous number of podcasts and have a couple of recs for you.
Faery Knitting, done by ravelry user “spinnerin”. She has a LOVELY speaking voice and reads one or two fairy tales at the beginning of each podcast. She’s actually the reason I’m going to try to do the Librivox recording, as all of the tales she reads are from public domain works found at Project Gutenberg. There are a number of the Lang “color” fairy books already recorded in the Librivox catalog, but I thought I’d do some of these for my nieces & nephews, to be listened to at their parents discretion. And if I’m going to do that, why not do it for Librivox?
Anyway, I love the tales of life in Texas with alpaca, and dairy goats, and cheesemaking and construction on their land and generally all the groovy things she does. A little off the mainstream beaten path of knitting podcasts, but I’m enjoying it so far!
My other rec for the day is Celtic Myth Podshow, and it’s a lovely podcast out of the British Isles covering, you guessed it, Celtic Myths. Given that my proto-business here in fiber revolves around myths and legends, the title piqued my interest and I’ve enjoyed the few I’ve had a chance to listen to so far. Plus, I just dig the accents.
I need to step away from the computer so I can fight down the urge to purchase a rigid heddle loom and stand right the hell now, so I’m posting this and walking away for a while. I hope this finds you well!
Thanks for the links for the 2 podcasts! I’m always looking for new and good ones to keep me company when I spin.

Wow, I’m out of touch with the world of podcasts. They sound interesting, but I fear I’d better stay away. I can’t even seem to keep up with blogs, or e-mail, or…the laundry, or anything! Hee!
*hugs*
