Don’t let the door hit ya

Filed under: knitting — moiraeknittoo @ 5:37 PM

…on the way out, 2008.

I had a LOT of lows this year. A few highs too, but my lowest low keeps sinking, and it’s hard to see the top of the shaft I find myself in right now.

I’m really freakin’ glad 2008 is nearly over. 2009 is a master year, and I hope to spend the first couple of months reassessing and rebuilding. I should definitely learn to quilt, so I have some guidelines with which to put myself back together. Get back to some basics, and stop finding myself so attached to “stuff”. Find my center again. Start practicing those things that brought me some measure of peace on a regular basis.

And maybe this year I’ll learn what it means to be happy, instead of simply existing or, at most, being content.

Bring on another new beginning.

  1. Wishing you a Happy New Year! I think 2008 was a rubber bottom year and 2009 is the year we bounce back up.

  2. Sounds like a good plan to me – especially the quilting. I’ve sorta wanted to get back into it myself – in a not-over-the-top-as-I-usually-do way. I sure understand just existing through a year – especially when the meds don’t work. I too intend to live more fully in the moment in 2009.
